BILLING Clerk
Pamela Owusu
Torys LLP
My name is Pamela. I was born in Toronto, raised in Brampton up until grade 6, then moved back to Toronto. I chose my current profession to get my foot in the door, in the legal area. My current profession won’t be my last one. I plan to work with Torys until I go back to school, to get my Paralegal degree.

What is your educational background?
I completed my Paralegal Education course at Humber College in 2019. My plan is to go back and get a degree

What are your daily roles and responsibilities?
I work alongside lawyers and legal assistants to provide clients with invoices, and legal papers that they need.

What are some obstacles you faced?
The only obstacle was Covid-19! I was only in the office for about 3 weeks training, then we moved to remote working. It was a bit difficult to figure things out on my own, but my coworkers were always available to help.

What advice would you give the 15-18 year old version of yourself?
Never limit yourself! Go above and beyond, no matter what. No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to change.
