Assistant Manager QA and Implementation Services
I am a Assistant Manager in the IT division of Canada’s largest non-bank lender. I started in the administrative department where I did customer service. I moved over to the IT division where I became a QA specialist. After two years of being a specialist I was promoted to a supervisor role where then shortly after was promoted to Assistant Manager where I have my own team of QA specialists.

This profession was one that choose me as a former manager thought that a move to IT would bring a challenge that I was looking for. This profession is truly hands on and allows me to be involved in product development. This profession has also allowed me to communicate with senior management and executives and be apart of projects that impact the financial landscape.

What is your educational background?
I’m a York University graduate, where I studied Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing. Along the way I obtained a certification in Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Business Analyst at the University of Toronto.

What are your daily resposibilities?
I currently manage a QA and Implementation Service team where we are responsible for testing software applications and products that are developed by a in house IT department. What hurdles did you face?
Coming out of university with a degree with no job prospects can be extremely stressful and difficult. There were times of self doubt but the mindset to push through overcame any doubts or concerns.

What advice would you give to the 15 – 18 year old version of yourself?
My advice to myself would be , you truly never know what opportunities lay ahead. Put in the work be a good person and the results will show.
Be the type of energy that no matter where you go, you always add value to the spaces and lives around you.
