It wasn’t until he joined his high school dance team, did he decide to share his talent with the world. He later decided to take his next step and merged into the professional dance world, becoming a member of dance training companies in his local city. Since then, he has done numerous projects including a national commercial for Pepto Bismol, featured in an upcoming Nollywood movie ‘CLASH’, appeared in American God’s Season 2, MMVA Performances including -Jason Derulo, Mia Martina, and Megan Trainor, Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games, French Montana, and opening up for Justin Timberlake’s MOTW tour with Francesco Yates. With his passion, drive, and commitment to dance, Percy continues to build his career as a professional dancer, and finds joy in collaborating creatively with emerging artists. Recently creating a Children’s book with one his friends met through dance; titled “My Happy Dance” centered on building confidence in young black children and celebrating small wins.

What is your educational background?
After Graduating Highschool, It was a tough journey/internal battle of knowing what was going to make me happy as a career as well as trying to please my parents. We went through an Architectural Program at Humber but decided to take my path in the direction of Professional Dance. Now enrolled in a program of Art and Design at Centennial College.

What hurdles did you face?
Growing up in a household of immigrant parents that sacrificed their lives to come over to North America for better opportunities and wanting to pursue an artistic career was the biggest obstacle. My belief is that, confidence within oneself starts at home. So when you have people who love you telling you that you are wasting your time, it’s the biggest obstacle overcome in your mind. There where plenty of times I thought about quitting, but I stuck by one quote ” quitters never win, and winners never quit.” Once I made that decision, it was easier to pursue my dreams and goals.

What advice would you give to the 15 – 18 year old version of yourself?
First. Be You. Own your power. God blessed with you many gifts and talents that you can bless the whole world with and help inspire others to do the same. Second. Your NOW is the most important time in your life. Don’t take away from your current position by thinking about what awaits you in future. It distracts you from the mission and causes you to take shortcuts in life. Do what you do because you love it and the reward will be there at the end of the rainbow, and when you get there continue to go further.
